Gorky Reservoir,
Volga river

The Gorky Reservoir is characterized by relatively small dimensions (100x10 km), high concentrations of blue-green algae up to floating algae, and a noticeable spatially and temporally heterogeneous dynamics of water masses, depending on channel current, wind forcing, and water flow through the hydroelectric power station. These factors narrow the generally accepted time interval for satellite data validation and significantly complicate in situ measurements
